World Television Day is celebrated on November 21st of each year.

The United Nations General Assembly established world Television Day in 1996. The announcement was made in motion at the 99th plenary meeting of the Assembly. This particular day was chosen because it was the first World Television Forum was held on that day in 1996.

On this day member states are invited to observe the day by encouraging global exchanges of television programs focusing on issues such as peace, security, economic and social development and enhancing cultural exchanges.
